Re: Death Investigation
On January 29th, 2024, Officers were dispatched to 203 West Mechanic Street reference a possible deceased male. Officers arrived and located a white male deceased in an apartment.
The male was identified as Eric Dickman, 75 years old of Shelbyville. At this time the investigation is on going and we do not know the manner or cause of Mr. Dickman’s death. We will be requesting an autopsy be conducted in this case.
We will release additional information as it becomes available and can be released to the media. We do not feel the public is in any type of danger and believe this is an isolated incident.
We are asking anyone who may have any information relating to the death of Mr. Dickman to contact the Shelbyville Police Department Investigations Division.
