The Porter Visitors Center will be closed the week of April 29, 2024 due to construction work for The Mill Apartments.
SHELBYVILLE, IN. (April 26) – Shelby County Tourism and Visitors Bureau offices will be closed the week of April 29
due to complex drainage work that will be completed on both the north and west sides of the center. Superindentent of the
project, Brian Walterman, updated the SCTVB commission on April 25 concerning availability of contractors for digging
and installation work that will be completed in front of the building.
“For the safety of the visitors and residents alike, The Porter Visitors Center will be closed. SCTVB staff will be working
remotely, and can be contacted at www.visitshelbycounty.com, social media or by email at rachael@visitshelbycounty.com.
We are sorry for any inconveniece this may cause, but for the safety of everyone involved we are leaning toward the advice
of the contractor and closing the offices,” states Rachael Ackley, Executive Director.
