The City of Shelbyville and Shelby County collaborated with Southern Indiana Regional Planning Council (SIRPC) to obtain a $350,000 grant from the Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority (IHCDA) to fund owner-occupied rehabilitation projects for the elderly. The recipients in 14 homes (7 in the City, 7 in the County) will be provided with up to $25,000 each to upgrade and make needed improvements to their homes. This effort will renovate homes that need rehabilitation. The City and County anticipates additional funding by IHCDA may be available in the future to address housing local needs Projects will commence in two rounds (one in the spring, one in the fall).

Regardless of Shelbyville and Shelby County requirements for permitting, licensure, registration, or insurance for any trade involved, anyone wishing to work on these projects must submit this information.
